The Kingsley Residence represents a contemporary reimagining of a traditional suburban home. Designed to enhance both functionality and lifestyle, the renovation focused on transforming a dated floor plan into a light-filled, open, and highly connected living environment suited to modern family life.
Through thoughtful architectural intervention, the home was redefined to create a stronger relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces while introducing a refined and contemporary aesthetic.
Project Brief
The client sought to modernise their existing residence while retaining the home’s underlying character and street presence.
Key objectives included improving natural light, increasing ceiling heights to create a greater sense of volume, enhancing spatial flow throughout the home, and creating functional open-plan living spaces suitable for entertaining and everyday family living.
The renovation also aimed to improve the home’s connection to outdoor areas while introducing a more contemporary architectural language.
Design Outcome
The design centred around the introduction of raised ceilings, strategically positioned skylights, and expansive openings that allow natural light to penetrate deep into the home’s interior.
A carefully curated material palette featuring warm timber finishes, natural stone textures, and soft neutral tones creates a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The reconfigured floor plan improves circulation throughout the home while establishing a seamless connection between living, dining, kitchen, and outdoor entertaining spaces.
The result is a contemporary family residence that feels spacious, calm, and effortlessly functional, demonstrating how thoughtful renovation can completely transform the experience of a home.
